Seventeen minutes into the second track on Aspects of Physics' Systems of Social Recalibration, you know you're not in singles territory anymore, Toto. System's R2D2 blips and Aphex Twin blurps are far too inward-looking to pack a dance floor, but that's pretty obviously not the point. AoP's roomy, dissonant space oddities are the stuff headphones were invented for-either that, or the best massage music since Deep Forest wore out their welcome. Tonight, maybe they'll amp it up for the Baltic crowd; it's obvious they've got the ROBO covered, but Trash might take more work. Either way, plastiq phantom's more aggressive EQ should bridge the gap.
Baltic Room. 9 p.m. $5. Wed. Aug. 7.
